Terms of Use for BlendTab
Last updated: 26 September 2026
1. Who is offering what
BlendTab is provided by Markus Radlbrunner, Unterhofkirchen 65, 84416 Taufkirchen, reachable at kontakt@blendtab.com.
BlendTab helps split expenses between several people and keep track of who owes whom how much. The app keeps a record — nothing more.
2. BlendTab is not a payment service
This is the most important point in these terms.
BlendTab does not move money. It does not hold an account, does not accept payments, does not forward any, and does not step between the people involved at any point. Whoever owes whom something pays it themselves — by bank transfer, in cash, or however they choose. BlendTab is therefore not a payment service within the meaning of the German Payment Services Supervision Act (Zahlungsdiensteaufsichtsgesetz) and not an e-money institution.
The transfer code (EPC QR code) the app displays is nothing more than a filled-in transfer template for your own banking app. Whether and what you transfer with it is entirely your decision.
3. No liability for the accuracy of amounts
The balances BlendTab shows follow from what users enter. Typos, forgotten expenses, incorrectly assigned participants, or a receipt scan that misses an item lead to incorrect amounts.
Check every amount before you pay or claim it. The provider is not liable for a statement being correct and does not owe any particular accuracy of receipt scanning. Claims between the people involved are theirs to settle among themselves; the provider is not party to them and does not mediate.
4. Account and use
Using the app requires an account with an email address and password. You are responsible for keeping your password secret and securing your device. An account belongs to one person; do not share your credentials. Anyone who should join your household receives an invitation.
Use is currently free of charge.
Receipt scanning is excluded from this and is in trial: it is limited in quantity — currently one receipt per account per day — and is not available without limit. Whether and how it may cost something in the future is open; this does not amount to a promise about the scope or duration of free use. All other functions of BlendTab are unaffected by this limit, and a receipt can still be saved and attached to the entry independently of it.
5. What you may enter — and what you may not
In BlendTab you also enter information about other people: names, amounts, in some cases bank details, and receipts contain purchases. For this:
- Do not enter data about third parties that they are unaware of or would not want to see there.
- Do not upload receipts that show information unrelated to the shared expense.
- Do not use BlendTab for unlawful purposes, to harass others, or to gain access to accounts that are not yours.
- Do not attempt to overload the service, scrape it automatically, or circumvent its protective measures.
You are responsible for the content you enter. In the event of serious violations, the provider may suspend or delete an account.
6. Receipt scanning
Receipts are only transmitted to a third party for scanning if you have given your explicit consent. You may withdraw this consent at any time in your account; without it, the app remains fully usable — you simply enter the items yourself. Details are set out in the Privacy Policy.
The number of scans is limited — per day and per account. This is not a malfunction but intentional: it keeps costs in check and prevents a single user from using up the scanning capacity for everyone. Once the quota is reached, the receipt is still saved.
7. Availability
The provider makes an effort to run a reliable service but does not owe any particular availability. Maintenance, disruptions and outages are possible. Your data is additionally kept on your device, so you can keep working without a connection; this is not a substitute for a backup of your own. If your records matter to you, get a copy from time to time via Account → Your data.
8. Liability
The provider is liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the Product Liability Act. For simple negligence, the provider is only liable for breach of an obligation whose fulfilment is essential to the proper performance of the contract in the first place and on whose observance you were entitled to rely, and then limited in amount to the foreseeable damage typical for this type of contract. Liability is otherwise excluded.
9. Termination
You can delete your account in the app at any time: Account → Delete account. What happens to your data when you do — and why shared expenses remain — is set out in the Privacy Policy.
The provider may discontinue the service with reasonable notice. In that case you will be informed in good time so that you can still export your data.
10. Changes to these terms
If the provider changes these terms, you will be informed in the app and asked for your consent. The changed terms only apply to you once you have actively agreed in the app; without that, the previous version continues to apply to you. If you do not agree, you can delete your account at any time without notice (see section 9); continued use without this consent is not intended.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
German law applies. If you are a consumer, the mandatory protective provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected. To the extent permitted, the place of jurisdiction is the provider's place of residence (84416 Taufkirchen). As against consumers, this agreement applies only to the extent the law allows — as a rule, the place of jurisdiction at your place of residence remains available to you.
The EU platform for online dispute resolution can be found at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. The provider is neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
